08:00 UTC Families and Careers–Learn and Share
The Community of Women in Water is pleased to host a March Learn and Share on Families and Careers where the experts are you! Please come with questions and insights to share, so we can learn from one another. Mothers who work on water in different sectors will lead breakout group discussions that may cover everything from timing for career moves and starting or expanding a family to balancing trade-offs between family and work to sector and regional difference in expectations and support structures. This will be a space for honest confidential discussion (Chatham House Rules), recognizing that families take many forms and balancing family and career can be good and different in more ways than an individual person can imagine. We also know an hour is a short space for so much to share, so the space will remain open for the half hour following the event to allow participants who are able to stay and chat informally.
In addition to sharing as a large group, we will be breaking out into sectors where we work for specific sharing of challenges and insights:
- Private Sector
- Government/Governance
- Civil Society/NGOs
- Academia
