SUMMARY:Recording below of Conquering the Unconscious Bias
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nGlobal Water Partnership ( https://www.gwp.org/ ), Community of Women in Water ( https://cwiw.org/about ), and World Bank Equal Aqua ( https://www.worldbank.org/en/topic/water/brief/inclusive-water-institutions-platform ) were pleased to host this public event Conquering the Unconscious Bias.\n\n\n\nView the recording here. Event details about speaker are below.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWater projects are six times more efficient when women are part of the team, and yet there are still massive gaps in employment of women within the water sector. We need women to help create water solutions for communities, businesses, and the environment to get the clean, sustainable water they need to be resilient. This is particularly true for jobs that are onsite or that require a strong science background. How can we help women colleagues join and remain in the water sector? \nFor women to stay and remain active in the water sector strongly depends a support network–particularly both men and women colleagues. So, that means we all have a role to play. How can you best support your women colleagues? Join us to learn what you can do now and in the long-term. \nSpeakers include: \nIntroduction–Soma Ghosh Moulik ( https://blogs.worldbank.org/team/soma-ghosh-moulik ), Practice Manager, World Bank\nKeynote Speaker—Brad Johnson ( http://www.wbradjohnson.com/ ), PhD, U.S. Naval Academy & co-author of The Good Guys\nPanelist—Dr. Inga Jacobs Mata ( https://www.iwmi.cgiar.org/about/staff-list/inga-jacobs-mata/ ), Regional Representative, IWMI Southern Africa\nPanelist—Jabulile Mashwama ( http://www.swsc.co.sz/about/executive/ ), Managing Director, eSwatini Water Services Corporation\nModerator –Kathryn Pharr ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/kathryn-pharr-11a3936/ ), Founder, Community of Women in Water\nClosing—Dr. Liza Debevec ( https://wle.cgiar.org/people/liza-debevec ),  Senior Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist, Global Water Partnership\nThe final half hour of the event will allow participants to breakout into small groups to have meaningful discussions about what has been shared during the keynote and panel discussion.\nTo make this event truly global, we will be offering translation in French, Russian, and Spanish. Additionally, there will be a breakout room for each of these languages in the final half hour.\n\n\n\n\n
